Hey gorgeous, I’m Amy.
I'm a photographer for the wild and adventurous; the curious and the spontaneous; the imperfect and the deeply human.
"The day I went into this photo shoot, I was not in a good place. I was going through some deep emotional work, I felt uncomfortable in my body and insecure in my appearance. After I left, I ended up spending this day in bed in my pjs journaling and crying. I voiced this to Amy the next day and how comfortable, safe and supported she made me feel during the shoot.
When I received these photos back a couple weeks later, I had tears in my eyes looking at them. I couldn’t believe how beautiful they were and how beautiful I felt looking at these. I couldn’t believe that this was me on that day, going through what I was going through.
Amy reminded me that this was what I was actually projecting out into the world.
For me, it reminded me of the way our mind can view ourselves and the stories depending what we are going through and what parts are showing up that day. For me, my worth, what I deserve and honouring myself, was what I was moving through and this was projected onto everything I felt about myself that day.
But stripping back the layers, what was actually there, that morning ? Support. Safety. Excitement. Fun and smiles and that’s what showed.
